A no-name 7kW untethered EV charger that costs half the price of a Wallbox Pulsar or myenergi Zappi. Is it worth the risk? I fitted one to my garage and ran it hard for six months.

Who is this for?
The target buyer is someone on a budget who has already sorted their tariff. If you charge overnight on a flat rate, or you use your car’s own scheduling, a plain 7kW untethered charger is all you need. It is not for solar-diverter fans or Intelligent Octopus users.
